01 — Why Nexus Marine

RestorFX Marine certified centre — Mediterranean.

« You don't buy a product. You buy an installation method. »

Nexus Marine is a certified RestorFX Marine centre for the Mediterranean territory, in partnership with AGL Marine, official France distributor. The RestorFX process, created in Canada 26 years ago, is internationally awarded for its innovation — opening the way to a new technology of surface restoration. Chemistry only delivers 30 % of the result. The remaining 70 % depends on preparation, application conditions, and execution precision. Our certification locks every step, from diagnosis to delivery.

03 — Why RestorFX

The 10 official reasons to choose RestorFX Marine.

The 10 technical pillars that set RestorFX apart from all traditional alternatives — polish, wax, ceramic, repaint. Validated by 26 years of expertise and a network present in 45 countries.

01   Reduced downtime

24 to 48 hours depending on surface. You get your boat back in 1 or 2 days, where a repaint forces 3 to 5 weeks of yard time.

02   High performance

Internationally awarded solution for its innovation. Technical validation across 26 years in 45 countries.

03   Cost-effective

Significantly cheaper alternative to recurring polishing or traditional repainting.

04   Durable

Lasting restoration. Several years without a new intervention, without repainting, without aggressive repolishing.

05   Built-in UV protection

UV filters integrated in the formulation. Anti-yellowing, anti-solar degradation — critical in the Mediterranean.

06   Reduced waste

Less solvent, less waste, original paint preserved. Restore rather than replace.

07   Certified technicians

Application reserved to certified RestorFX centres. Homogeneous and guaranteed quality standard.

08   Multi-surface

Compatible with paint, varnish, gelcoat, carbon, metallic, direct gloss. One single protocol for all your surfaces.

09   Ceramic-compatible

Can be combined with a ceramic protection as a finish for complementary hydrophobic protection.

10   Increased density

Physically densifies the surface. Harder, denser, more resistant to everyday aggressions.

"RESTORE RATHER THAN REPLACE."

04 — The right math

Polish, RestorFX, Repaint — the real comparison.

A polish costs less but wears off in a year. A repaint costs four times more and forces several weeks of yard time. RestorFX hits the sweet spot — cost-effective, durable, fast.

Polish

€ 40 / m²

Surface buffing. Lasts ~ 1 year. Must be repeated every season. Suited to regular maintenance.

Downtime: 1 to 2 days

RestorFX · Recommended

€ 90 / m²

Molecular fusion. Lasts several years. Densifies the surface, integrated UV protection, multi-substrate.

Downtime: 24 to 48 h

Repaint

€ 400 / m²

Full repaint in spray booth. Lasts 5 to 10 years. Relevant only when the hull is severely degraded.

Downtime: 3 to 5 weeks

Over 5 years: a polish costs ~ € 200/m² (5 annual passes). A repaint costs € 400/m² but immobilises 5 weeks. RestorFX costs € 90/m² and lasts the same period.

05 — Before / After

You can see it with the naked eye.

Real photos from Nexus Marine RestorFX projects.

Navy hull — Before / After

Before / after RestorFX on yacht hull — surface restoration through molecular fusion, no spraying

Same yacht. Same angle. Same Mediterranean exposure. Before: oxidised gelcoat, micro-scratches, loss of gloss. After: surface restored in depth, +10 microns of material integrated, original gloss restored — without destructive sanding, without spray booth, without 3 weeks of downtime.

Hull gloss & finish

Before / after RestorFX on yacht hull — surface restoration through molecular fusion, no spraying

Without intervention, gelcoat progressively loses its shine under salt, UV and micro-scratches. A polish corrects superficially and lasts a few months. RestorFX structurally restores depth of colour and a saturated mirror finish — for several years, without aggressive repolishing or gel-coat re-spray.

Glazing

Yacht glazing before and after PureGlas — hydrophobic effect droplets

PureGlas creates a hydrophobic surface on portlights, windshields and helm station glazing. Droplets slide off immediately rather than spreading and drying as mineral deposits. Limescale adhesion is dramatically reduced; gloss retention extends to 12 to 18 months under Mediterranean exposure.

06 — The journal

Four truths to know before you restore your hull.

What product datasheets won't tell you. Four angles every owner, captain or broker should understand before signing a quote.

Myth busted

« Nano-coatings are too expensive. »

The cheapest option in year one is almost always the most expensive over ten years.

Year 1 Year 10 Gelcoat Gelcoat Traditional maintenance RestorFX Nexus Marine

On a 20 m yacht, conventional maintenance accumulates annual polishing, aggressive treatments and — every 5 to 7 years — a partial or full gel-coat replacement. With every cycle, the gel-coat thins. With every sand-back, the vessel's value erodes.

  • Annual manual polishing: €2,500 to €5,000 per season
  • Mid-life gel-coat replacement: €25,000 to €60,000 depending on size
  • Vessel finish slowly written off the books

The RestorFX protocol is the opposite: € 90 / m² × 100 m² = € 9,000 in year 1, several years without touch-up, and 10 microns integrated that reinforce the surface instead of eroding it.

Over 10 years, the cumulative cost gap easily exceeds € 30,000 in favour of RestorFX — not counting the sailing season preserved.

Seasonal angle

Be the first yacht ready for the season.

While others burn crew hours in March, you're already underway.

Spring prep is when every captain counts hours. Stripping winter deposits, aggressive polishing, chemical treatment of pitted stainless, teak finishing. Thirty to fifty crew hours per vessel — sometimes more.

With RestorFX, the equation changes radically: 3 to 8 days of intervention depending on boat size.

  • Express application planned at de-winterisation
  • 1 to 2 h drying — ready for water the same day
  • Surfaces clean from the first soft wash
  • Zero aggressive chemistry needed for re-launch

The result: a vessel operational in 48 h while your competitors lose a week. On a Mediterranean season starting late April, those days are worth gold.

Be sailing while your neighbours are still polishing their handrails.

Blind spot

The tender. The piece everyone forgets.

Flexible surface, maximum exposure, wrong products. The tender is the fleet's blind spot.

Tenders, jet-skis, paddles, bimini covers, fenders: these flexible surfaces take UV wear and salt at full load. Yet nearly every conventional ceramic product cracks or peels on materials that flex.

The result on most yachts: faded colour, dull surface, salt marks that never fully come off after 18 months. And a replacement cost that comes back identical every cycle.

  • Compatible with gelcoat, polyurethane paint, varnish
  • No cracking, no peeling
  • Fast low-pressure airbrush application
  • Compatible with composite, hypalon, vinyl, sails

Nexus Marine treats your tender, jet-skis, paddles and sails under the same protocol as the hull. An integrated fleet logic that few applicators offer.

A consistent fleet is also what your guests see from the tender.

The trade secret

70 % of the result happens before the coating.

The world's best product on a poorly prepared surface — zero result.

The science behind RestorFX is simple: molecular fusion integrates 10 microns of material into the existing substrate. But to fuse properly, the substrate has to be impeccably prepared. No contamination, no residual film, no untreated micro-scratches.

This is precisely the step amateur or rushed applicators skip — and precisely the step that determines whether the coating lasts 18 months or 6.

  • Gentle biodegradable chemical decontamination
  • Solvent degreasing matched to the substrate
  • Selective micro-polishing of scratched zones
  • Hygrometric control before application

The Nexus Marine method never shortens these steps. Not even when the client is in a hurry. That's the difference between a certified applicator and a generic operator.

Our real craft is everything we do before we put the RestorFX on.

07 — Who it's for

For owners. Captains. Fleet managers. Brokers.

The same coating system, a different measurable benefit depending on where you sit in the chain.

Owners

Your yacht is a capital asset in a corrosive environment. RestorFX restores its surface in depth without costly repaint or spray booth. Buyers notice the difference immediately at viewing.

Captains & chief engineers

Crew hours recovered from routine surface maintenance are crew hours available for seamanship, guest service and safety. Aggressive cleaning chemistry disappears from the lockers — reducing crew health exposure and environmental compliance risk.

Fleet & charter managers

More operated days per vessel per year. Reduced unplanned downtime. Faster turnaround between charters. Quarterly fleet KPI reporting that gives you an actual maintenance dashboard. That is margin recovered on every unit in the fleet.

Brokers & charter agencies

A RestorFX-restored vessel comes to market with a professional photographic dossier, documented before/after and an application certificate. Better-presented vessels command better asking prices — and sell faster. Clear referral commission structure.

08 — The Nexus Marine protocol

The product does 30 %. We do the other 70 %.

RestorFX technology is exceptional. But a molecular fusion product applied to a poorly prepared surface underperforms — and the owner never knows why. The Nexus Marine protocol closes that gap. Five locked steps, certified teams, monitored conditions.

  1. 1
Surface diagnosis (free, 48 h)On-site or photo-based inspection. Zone-by-zone mapping, feasibility validation, protocol recommendation. Document shared with the owner.
  2. 2
Detailed quote (72 h)Written commitment on scope, price per m², lead time and conditions. Travel quoted separately if intervention at the berth.
  3. 3
Surface preparationDecontamination, degreasing, micro-polishing to the specification of each substrate. This step conditions molecular fusion. Non-negotiable.
  4. 4
RestorFX applicationCloth application by certified technician, humidity continuously monitored. Uniform coverage zone by zone. No spraying, no booth, no visible joints.
  5. 5
Delivery & follow-upComplete inspection, photo project report, maintenance recommendations. Annual follow-up on request to verify durability over time.
